OWNER and HEAD COACH
Chris Estridge is the owner, operator and head coach at EDGE Fitness & Strength. Growing up very much involved in multiple sports, his passion for strength and fitness training really took off when he first stepped into the weight room at Ben Davis High School. Under the watchful eye of a renowned NSCA Strength and Conditioning Coach, Chris absorbed all that he could at the high school level. He continued to gain experience training others all the while pursuing his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Exercise Science at Ball State University.
Upon graduation in 2012, Chris went on to become the head coach at CrossFit BLAST Fitness in Indianapolis. Due to unforeseen circumstances, BLAST’s gym owners decided to shut down the business. With many of its core members still interested in training with Chris, he took that as motivation to open EDGE Fitness & Strength in March of 2013 with the help of his sister. Chris has always had a passion for helping others. That fact now comes to fruition as he and the EDGE Fitness staff are able to help changes peoples’ lives for the better through fitness and strength training. There is nothing more gratifying for Chris than to see one of his members achieve a new personal record, lose “X” pounds, drop multiple pant or dress sizes, or to literally hear them say, “You have changed my life forever!”
Chris is married to his beautiful wife, Mackenzie. She, in fact, owns a small business of her own– Younique Culture— a boutique located in Plainfield, IN. Together, they have a dog-child, Evie. When they aren’t managing their businesses, Chris and Mackenzie enjoy spending quality time with friends and family, watching movies, attending concerts, canoeing, shopping, and traveling when possible.

FITNESS AND STRENGTH COACH
Kirsten Purpura is a coach at EDGE Fitness and Strength. Kirsten was born in Reno, Nevada but spent most of her life growing up in northwest Indiana.
She moved to Indy in 2011 to dive on IUPUIs Women’s Swimming and Diving team and pursue a degree in Kinesiology. Kirsten has always had a passion and desire to invest herself in the health and welfare of others.
In 2015, she started a fitness ministry called Hosanna’s Heart, which seeks to provide free preventative health care to neighbors in the Mapleton – Fall Creek neighborhood in the form of group fitness classes and nutrition support. She’s worked one on one with neighbors who have many health issues such as diabetes, osteoarthritis, heart disease and beginning stages of renal failure.
Other passions Kirsten has in the fitness industry revolve are holistic wellness. With a firm belief that we are complex beings with emotional, physical, mental and spiritual components, Kirsten seeks to bring a breath of fresh hope to members and clients that work with her. She believes that to achieve complete fitness and health, it’s important to address the needs of all parts of ourselves.
Kirsten loves nothing more than when she witnesses someone experience reaching a new goal they never thought was possible.
Kirsten lives in the same neighborhood where she hosts Hosanna’s Heart. She enjoys days spent with her amazing husband, Stephen and the cutest cat in the world, Azusa. Other interests and hobbies include: social justice, hiking in the mountains, road trips and live music.
HEAD BOOT CAMP COACH/EDGE SPORTS PERFORMANCE COACH
Jason is a strength and conditioning coach at Edge Fitness & Strength and is the head trainer of the 8 Week Bootcamp program. Jason has a great depth of knowledge about the human body and how it performs.
During his undergraduate work at Purdue University he interned under some of the best Strength and Conditioning coaches in the industry. Jason worked with several Varsity sports including Football, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer as well as several other individual athletes.
While completing his Master’s Degree at IUPUI, he studied under a leading exercise physiology researcher and gained a wealth of knowledge about human performance.
Jason has worked directly with every shape and size of person. From beginners just starting an exercise program, to high level high school athletes, to future NFL players and Olympians. Jason uses his experience and knowledge to improve every aspect of fitness for his clients. He is also a teacher at heart and shares his insights and perspectives in order for his clients to make the best health and fitness decisions inside and outside of the gym.
Jason’s favorite hobbies are golfing, obstacle races, kayaking, football, and snuggling with his dog.

FITNESS AND STRENGTH COACH
I am was born and raised in Crawfordsville Indiana. I was a multi-sport athlete at Hanover College as part of the soccer and golf teams. I transferred to IUPUI where I completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fitness Management, with a minor in business. I am currently pursuing my Master of Science Degree in Clinical Exercise Science at IUPUI, and expect to graduate in May. I was a Sports Performance intern at Purdue University, working with the Women’s Soccer, Men’s and Women’s Swimming, and Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Athletes. I am an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer. The thing I enjoy most about training people is seeing them get results, whether it be losing a few pounds or hitting a new PR. That’s what keeps me motivated to grow as a coach.
I have released a baby sea turtle into the ocean in Mexico, and named him Timmy.
FITNESS AND STRENGTH COACH
John Campbell is a coach at Edge Fitness and Strength. He is also an elementary physical education teacher at a local school in Indianapolis. John has a B.S. Degree in Health (5-12) and
Physical Education (K-12) with a minor degree in Adapted Physical Education (K-12). He also has a M.S. Degree in Special Education (K-12). John completed the ACSM Certified Personal Trainer Course and Exam and previously served as a Level I CrossFit Trainer and a CrossFit Kids Trainer.
John likes helping others improve their ability to move well and fostering an appreciation for physical activity that will last a lifetime. He aims to establish an atmosphere where exercise and enjoyment can go together.
John appreciates being a part of a gym where strength training is valued and where connections with other people occur in a supportive environment. John is a husband and a father. Besides spending time with family, he enjoys reading and rooting for the Cincinnati Reds.

EDGE SPORTS PERFORMANCE COACH
After participating in sports for about 18 years of my life I have met so many people and created some life long bonds. One strong bond was with my high school Defensive Back/Strength Coach who played a major role in me becoming a Coach.
He always pushed me to prepared for the unknown. So I trained as hard as I could and because of this I received a scholarships to Indiana St. University to play football. Individuals who train with me will be challenged in a fun and effective way that allows you to hit your fitness goals.
He was born on April Fools Day.
